I give lessons to A level pupils regarding essay writing skills and analytical skills. These are the foundation of university study and my aim is to ensure that students are prepared for university work as early as possible. I use my own expertise in film, media and cultural studies to make the lessons engaging and interesting for my students.
I have been teaching first year university students for four years and on average have taught 60 students over a 30 week period every year. As a result of my tuition students have gone on to receive degrees and through their essay submissions over the time period I taught them a marked improvement could be seen in their analytical and essay writing skills.
I have obtained a First in Film Studies and English Literature as an undergraduate, an MA degree in Media and Cultural Studies and am coming towards the end of completing my PhD in Film Studies.
I have been awarded the title of Associate Fellow with the Higher Education Academy which is a recognised teaching qualification.
I have taught seminars for four years and have run workshops on essay writing, exam skills and analytical skills.
My lessons are tailored for A Level students, mature students and students who have taken a gap year. The purpose of the lessons is to get students used to what university work will be expected of them, such as essay writing skills.View internship
