Every student is different and each individual has their own learning methods. My aim is to adapt to my student's requirements and needs, and work through them, no matter how tough it may be!
Each lesson will be predominantly focused on the weakness of the student to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the topic at hand. At the start of the lesson, we will lay out learning objectives and strive to complete them in the lesson. At the end of the session, I will do an evaluation of the lesson with the student to ensure there are no doubts.
In Maths, practice is imperative! We will work through plenty of questions and examples. Homework will be set to ensure a thorough understanding of the topic by the student.
The lesson structure and topics taught will be based on the specification of the child's exam board. For e.g. if your child is on the edexcel board for maths, I will ensure that the specification for edexcel is followed. Exam style and practice questions will be extracted from the relevant books, and worksheets will be provided to ensure maximum practice and understanding.
I have attended private Maths tuition from the age of 7 up until 18, so I know to conduct lessons as well as being interactive with the pupil and not bore them
I have been tutoring since 2015 - present. I started off tutoring my siblings and cousins with their 11+ and GCSEs. All of them passed their 11+ exams and my GCSE students achieved at least an A grade in Mathematics.
I have been actively tutoring 10 students for three consecutive years who are all in KS3 & KS4. I have received plenty of positive feedback from my students' parents due to my tutoring being reflected in their exam results.
I have been visiting a School in India for 4 consecutive years to assist with teaching and work with the staff there to further improve the curriculum. The kids I worked with in India, had an age range between 5-17, so I know how to work with different age groups.
I have often been described as reliable, approachable, adaptable, supportive, and pride myself in my ability to approach any challenge with a “can-do” philosophy.
Recently achieved a 1st Class (78%) in my Accounting & Finance degree where I studied numerous mathematical modules.
In my lessons I ensure the student understands what is being taught, to clarify, I make the student explain and demonstrate what he/she has learnt. Practice, practice, practice! This is my #1 rule when teaching. Also, setting homework and the completion of homework is important to me as well as it is crucial for my students. Without practice outside of lessons, knowledge will fade.
