My teaching approach is based on building a strong relationship with the pupil. I focus on listening to the students own concerns and encouraging them to solve these problems in an enjoyable, non-judgemental way. I find students get a lot more personal satisfaction from improving their own understanding of a topic. My aim is to facilitate that - not just showing them how to do it correctly, rather allowing them to work it out slowly themselves with my guidance. I find this is the most enjoyable and effective way for them to learn. Making the lessons interesting and entertaining is a challenge I relish. I then get the student to apply their new knowledge to practice questions and example exam papers to consolidate the learning.
I attended Latymer Upper School until aged 18. While making the most of everything Latymer had to offer including the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Young Enterprise competition and Sports (Cricket, Football and Badminton being my favourite). I also managed to attain 10 A* grades at GCSE Level (including all the core subjects; Maths, English, Triple Science and also Geography, History, Design Technology and Spanish). At A Level I also achieved A*s in Maths and Geography and, an A in Physics.
After school, I left London to Study Civil Engineering at Bristol University. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 years studying and left with a 1st Class Degree (Beng) in Civil Engineering, as well as skills, memories and friends for life!
Since leaving University I have completed an 11 week internship at BP in their Global Energy Supply & Trading division in Canary Wharf. This taught me how to transfer all the skills and knowledge I had acquired throughout school and University into the Business world. I have also spent 10 months living and working in New Zealand which provided me with a wide range of new skills and experiences.
Aside from academics I am a very keen sportsman and a big football and cricket fan!
