I approach each topic following the teaching syllabus and addressing any topics that my student is struggling with in depth and detail. This involves me explaining any complex material in the most comprehensive way possible and providing questions for the student to then answer.

Shinrai Karate-Do: I am the Sempai (assistant teacher) at Sheen Mount Primary School’s karate club, run by Sensei Bernie David. I’ve studied karate under Sensei Bernie since the age of four and was awarded my black belt at the age of 12.
Together with Sensei Bernie, I teach three, back-to-back one-hour classes each week, with students ranging in age from four to 16-years-old. The role of Sempai brings with it a high degree of responsibility. The children vary in ability tremendously and, beyond teaching the sport itself, my role involves ensuring students stay attentive; motivated; well behaved and safe at all times. I get a huge sense of satisfaction from teaching the sport I love, and helping my students develop new skills and obtain their karate belts along the way.
