6th form student offering sociology and other humanity subjects for example geography

Methodology

I have the initiative and ability to take responsibility, make decisions and achieve brilliant results. Quick and keen learner: Demonstrated through my years of academic study where I engaged myself in every task and picked up difficult or challenging skills as reflected in my educational achievements. Recently, I have independently taught myself applied science at home which honed my time management and independence.

Background

Seven kings primary school 2017- During my A levels I took some time out of my busy schedule to become a peer mentor at the primary school. This was fulfilling as I learned about dealing with people from different age-groups and backgrounds. It helped develop my confidence when talking to people and was very inspiring.

Profile- I aspire to develop and achieve my maximum potential, both personally and professionally. Through the numerous tasks I have undertaken in my academic and work experience, I have always demonstrated myself as a keen, proactive and hardworking individual who aims to achieve the best results. I believe that I possess the skills required to help meet your company’s targets and enhance its success.
Skills - I have a strong level of verbal and written communication skills as I have demonstrated during work. By completing a work placement at a primary school, I took the responsibility to follow lesson plans with students. It allowed me to develop a rapport with different age groups. The most challenging part for me was communicating with children with impaired hearing. However, I took the initiative and dealt with this matter by adopting some sign language. Therefore, problem-solving and learning to adapt proved crucial. I have the initiative and ability to take responsibility, make decisions and achieve brilliant results. Planning, organising and time management demonstrated in group projects (at NCS). Also, I have the basic understanding of all Microsoft packages including Excel, power-point and word. Furthermore, I can work under pressure which is a key skill needed in the work industry.
Quick and keen learner: Demonstrated through my years of academic study where I engaged myself in every task and picked up difficult or challenging skills as reflected in my educational achievements. Recently, I have independently taught myself applied science at home which honed my time management and independence.
Great team player: Having been a prefect in my school, it became a testimony for my organisation as well as leadership, mainly through social and charity events. I demonstrated through my involvement within my school by liaising with my peers to overcome any problems faced and to enable the best performance from my prefects. Having been a sports mentor, I feel that I am used to assessing the situation and quickly adapting to it by making tough decisions which are in the best.
Work experience
Superdrug: 16-27th March 2014- During my time I aided with stocking the shelves as well as keeping them tidy. Also, one aspect I enjoyed was to help customers. This could be challenging at times as some of the customers couldn’t communicate in English. However, this wasn't much of the problem as being multi-lingual was a major benefit. This helped me understand Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi as well as English. Whilst working here teamwork was an essential skill which was well honed as I worked with my team well to complete different tasks. Some of these tasks included decorating the shop for events such as Easter. I also showed independence by working out what tasks were meant to be performed that day if my manager wasn’t in.
Seven kings primary school 2017- During my A levels I took some time out of my busy schedule to become a peer mentor at the primary school. This was fulfilling as I learned about dealing with people from different age-groups and backgrounds. It helped develop my confidence when talking to people and was very inspiring.
Teen challenge London- During my time at NCS I was given the opportunity to do voluntary work experience in July 2016. With a group of people our job was to repaint used furniture and to fix any damages. Also, another task that was given was to post flyers through the letter box.
Interests
Enjoy keeping fit both mentally and physically by doing sport and reading in my spare time. I also have a keen interest in photography, cooking and playing badminton. I joined a badminton club for a brief period of time and during this time it enhanced my interpersonal skills as it made me more outgoing and confident in talking to people. I feel that I have good work-life balance as I have loads of interests and manage to enjoy as well as work hard.
Other achievements
In 2007 at the age of 7 I helped raise money for CLIC Sargent with the help of people working at TCS Muswell Hill and raised a total of £455.00. During my time in primary school I raised money for the NSPCC. National citizen service (NCS) -I completed a three-week team bonding exercise resulting in charity work for various local communities and I helped raise money for homeless people by providing mehndi for the local community along with selling food with other people in my team. Lastly, I took part in a prestigious chess competition during my time in primary school, more than 100 children had taken part in the competition.
