I will use the first session to learn more about your child and to assess what they need to improve; for this reason I may use a variety of exam questions. Following this point on wards, my style of teaching will be based of what your child feels they need to work on, I will explain these topics and then give them casual mini assessments to ensure that they have understood what they have learnt in a relaxed atmosphere that would encourage them to ask me questions which I feel is important to ensure good learning.
I may also use mini tests based on what we learnt the lesson the week before, to help ensure the knowledge and understanding is within their long term memory. This is a method known as spaced learning which really helped me when revising for my GCSEs.
I'm currently in 6th form, taking A-level Maths, Physics and Art, in the hopes of pursuing a career in architecture which I feel would be an engaging career path for the opportunity to solve social problems, create art and influence the way people interact with their environment.
I've exceeded my target grades at GCSE, achieving the equivalent of 7 A**s, 2 A*s and a B and therefore have the knowledge required to help your child, to not only achieve their grades but also to develop an appreciation for their subjects.
I'm happy to tutor in:
1. 11+ (I passed the exam and have attended a grammar school since year 7)
2. GCSEs, As aforementioned I exceeded my target grades by a large margin and can tutor in most subjects specialising in maths and science.
3. KS1 and 2
