I like to start with foundations in theory and playing technique.
We will generally start with learning songs, go into theory through analysing individual tracks.
Once a background and preferred style has been developed, improvisation, ad-libs and compositional techniques can be taught flexibly.
I am an Engineer, Musician and Recent Graduate, who has played Guitar For 10 years and Bass for 7 years, I have experience in function bands, covers bands and writing and producing original music.
I have a background in predominantly rock and metal music, alongside funk, Motown and disco.
My playing takes inspiration from iconic artists such as Flea, John Entwistle, Victor Wooten and Joe Dart.
I have a 24hr notice period for cancelation.
I wont charge for travel unreasonably.

Sandy Brown Assistant Engineer may 2018 - july 2018
At Sandy Brown I worked as an acoustic consultant. In addition to cosmetic sound solutions, an acoustic consultant does things like suggest how to suspend a building in a way that reduces vibration from nearby railways and tube lines or provides detailed plans on how best to make an entire recording studio and oversees the building thereof, or provides scientific plans on how to build an anechoic chamber, a room immeasurably silent by common methods.
Here I simulated the acoustic responses of libraries and airports for purposes such as speech intelligibility, reverberant field minimisation and sound quality management.
Valeo Air Charging Systems - NVH Engineer august 2017 - march 2018
In conjunction with the University of Salford and my Degree in audio acoustic engineering, I have completed an 8 month internship with Valeo at their hub for research and development in Basildon.
Here I have honed many professional skills and applied many of the skills I have gained academically to real world scenarios. I have used software such as Me’scope and Bruel&Kaer’s ‘Pulse’ and ‘Pulse Labshop’.
Word also got around after a while that I could script in python, after which I developed small data analysis programs that are still used after I am gone, streamlining vibration data analysis over three multinational sites, Basildon, Cretil, st Floren and Czechowice.
University of Salford Student Union Bar Tender october 2016 - april 2019
The Students Union is the hub for all students to socialise, drink and pre-drink. This job has funded my studies and taught me the necessities of having a good relationship with customers in order to keep them coming back.
Though most people are amicable and friendly, students are largely hesitant to part with any loan money. Upselling proved a more challenging part of the job, but with enough persuasion, a large portion would move to a more expensive alternative.
Skills & Achievements
Proficient and confident in the use of scripting languages matlab/python and have used these languages for industrial data analysis, creating custom internal programs for the use of other engineers and experience with machine learning with Scikit learn in my own time and as part of my dissertation.
I have experience with B&K acquisition systems for acoustic and vibrational analysis and am fast to learn company testing procedures after having a wide experience with industrial testing.
With Valeo Air charging systems I have worked in a large team of engineers from all educational and geographical backgrounds. As one of only two acoustic engineers on site I would work with mechanical and electrical engineers in order to best apply our knowledge holistically in order to solve a problem.
Working in a multidisciplinary environment I have no problem explaining complex terms in a way in which people from all educational backgrounds would understand. For example, part of my job at Valeo would be to provide a noise report for units tested which would be sent to customers such as Audi, JLR and also to internal sites in France and Poland, these complex reports would need to be summarised concisely and in a way that would be understood by anyone.
CPR trained – Bronze & Silver National Lifesaving Awards for open water.
Raising money for charities such as Rainbows, Help for Heroes and The ALS association by performing in a band at charity events.
From a very young age I have been interested in two things, science and music, my study of audio acoustics has been a happy amalgamation of those two things.
As of late I have had an increasing interest in making live electronic music, and learning the scripting language python and exploring the newly emerging field of machine learning.
I enjoy going to local gigs and seeing bands and live music, going to university in manchester has really opened up my tastes for small venues and music scenes with a unique edge to them.
I have played guitar for 10 years, bass for 5 years.
