Having worked as a lecturer, teacher, and theatre practitioner, academic instruction and student guidance have been at the heart of what I have done for my entire working life.
It is my firm belief that education should not be viewed as a practice in deception, but rather as an opportunity to enhance oneself in his or her element and this comes from a pride taken in study and academic performance with a certainty that comes from preparation and constructive feedback.
Through discussion, analysis, and response to students' raw material, I engage in a collaborative process of aiding in the preparation and an expanded grasp of the curriculum being studied.
As a bursary-funded graduate student at The University of Exeter I was assigned to teach several modules over a three year period in addition to having served as an interim secondary school teacher Stateside prior to entering graduate study.
My experience Stateside at times offered unique challenges, especially the case when teaching students from predominantly lower-income families when working within the St Louis Public School system. However, taking from these and other experiences, I was able to engage the students’ creativity and appreciation for the material, enabling them to see its life beyond the lesson plan.
Additionally, both Stateside and in The UK, I have acted as a personal tutor to several students privately in subjects that spanned the English curriculum, several of whom are now seeing regular professional work in such markets as New York City and London.

Faithless Citizen Films (2017)
As company director of the fledgling film production company, I am currently attending to the production of two short-subject films, a series pilot, and a feature film to be shot in the coming year. Meetings are accordingly held in addition to various budgetary responsibilities and cast and crew coordination and instruction.
Random Acts Theatre (2001 – Present)
As the decade-long joint artistic director of Random Acts Theatre company, responsibilities have spanned from facilitation to promotional design to web content to creative writing, budgeting strategy, marketing, and beyond. In this capacity, it is believed that most skills could be viably transferred to most any context.
Book Trust (2015 - 2016)
As a regular contributor to Book Trust’s monthly ‘Books We Like’ online recommendations, my reviews have been published through the organisations site with publisher’s marketing campaigns on occasion including extracts from these reviews as part of promotion for a book’s release. My recent reviews have included Abattoir Blues, All Involved, and Barbarian Spring.
A-Plus Training (2013 - 2014)
As a member of A-Plus Training’s exam invigilator staff, I was responsible for the administration and supervision of certification exams. This included advance preparation of the examination room, registration of students, monitoring of exams, and reporting of results in the agency’s computer database.
PQA Plymouth (2014)
As an interim member of the Pauline Quirke Academy’s teaching staff covering staff leave, I have served as an instructor to students ranging in age from 7 to 18 years of age. In the course of our most recent terms, I have taught both stage acting and acting and production techniques for film. The aim of our most recent project with our oldest age group (15 -18) has been a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream of which I have assisted in the casting and co-direction.
Stagecoach Performing Arts School (2013)
Casual work with Stagecoach Plymouth, my responsibilities have included formulating and carrying out lesson plans for drama students ranging in age from 9 to 16 as well as conducting specified workshops.
University of Exeter (2009 – 2012)
As a bursary sponsored graduate student in drama, I was responsible for teaching of undergraduate drama classes with second and third year students in both literary and performance-based theatre. Other assumed responsibilities include: preparation of lectures, lessons, examination of paper, and student performance review.
