My name is Adam Taylor and I am currently a third year Foundation Scholarship Holder at the Royal College of Music. I am currently studying, freelance playing, teaching and composing/ arranging in London and all around the UK.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Trombone and general brass (trumpet, cornet, tenor horn, baritone, euphonium, tuba) are my main teaching instruments. I am also experienced in music theory and composition and arranging.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I gained distinction in all trombone grades and am currently studying for a Bmus(Hons.) at the Royal College of Music (Principal Study Trombone). I also hold a Scholarship at this institution. I achieved A's in Music and Music Technology at A level.
- How much do you charge?
The first lesson is free! After that 30mins is charged at £15, 45 mins at £20 and an hour is £25.
- Where do you teach?
I live in Southfields/ Wandsworth and will travel to the students home to give lessons. I can travel to most places within zones 1-3.
- When are you available?
Due to the nature of my College course, my timetable may change from week to week. Generally I am very flexible and can work out times that best suit you. Please do get in touch.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach any age from 5 years old upwards. I have a CRB certificate.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I tend to work towards Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) grades. I can also give extra tutoring for those studying for music GCSE and AS/ A Levels.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience in many different fields of music. I have played with many different ensembles from Symphony Orchestras to Brass Bands and Jazz Bands. I also have experience is small ensemble playing. I am currently composer in residence for a brass band based in the north west of England.

- Where and with whom did you train?
I have been fortunate enough to study with trombonists such as Paul Milner (LSO), Roz Davies (Halle), Lindsay Shilling (ROH Covent Garden), Roger Harvey (BBCSO) at institutions such as the Junior Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal College of Music.
