200 Trainee Teachers Have Passed. Build Your Confidence and Pass the QTS Test First Time.

Methodology

You will receive one hour of QTS tuition tailored to your needs. These can vary:

You may need to feel more confident.
You may need some helpful strategies.
You may need to get back to basics; with learning the timetables for example.

After having taught over 200 trainee teachers to pass the QTS test, I've learnt that each student is unique. I tailor the class to your ability level, personality, how you feel about Maths, learning style and more.

Background

I first started to teach for the QTS test whilst on my PGCE course at Goldsmiths College. Several of my peers needed some support and since then, I've been travelling the world and teaching the QTS online and I've helped over 200 trainee teachers pass the QTS Skills Test.

I'll help you gain confidence, feel better about Maths and pass the test. You also benefit from a special Superprof rate of 20 pounds per hour. I usually charge 35. You can learn more about me on (concealed information)

Adrian's CV

Over 10 years experience helping children and adults develop confidence with maths.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes, Goldsmiths College.

- Where and with whom did you train?

PGCE Primary Education, University of London

- Tell me about some of your current students.

I am very happy to strongly recommend Adrian Beckett, who is providing 11+ maths tuition for my 10 year old son J. J's mother, myself and J have found Adrian to be an excellent tutor. He is very personable and affable, and is very good at engaging Jude. He shows a good understanding of J's maths needs. J has responded well (much better than when I tried to provide some maths guidance!) and has has made marked progress in a short time. - Mr Anson (11+, 2013)

Adrian started tutoring our 10-yr old son only recently, but we have already seen results. J's confidence has soared and, above all, his enjoyment and satisfaction with the subject has increased. I love to hear J muttering aloud as he does the exercises Adrian sets - he becomes totally absorbed with the challenge and it makes a refreshing change that he's not trying to get out of doing his homework! I have great faith that J now stands an infinitely better chance of achieving a scholarship in maths. - Mrs Soopee (11+, 2014)

I am an RE Teacher, and completed my PGCE in 2009. The Numeracy skills test was something I had struggled with hugely for approximately a year and half, and with the great help of Adrian, I managed to pass my Numeracy test after just three sessions with him! I cannot thank him enough, as passing this test means I now have QTS (qualified teacher status) which is a massive change in both recognition and
pay as a teacher - Ms Rajput. (QTS, 2016)

After a few sessions with Adrian, I was able to gain my confidence and face my fears of the QTS test. Adrian is a fantastic tutor, his approach I have noticed was to build my confidence by showing me what I could already do. I now have QTS (qualified teacher status), which is fantastic. I would highly recommend Adrian to any training teacher finding the Skills Test very difficult. – Ms Kaplan (QTS, 2016)

"Thank you for all your support in the months you've been tutoring our daughter. She's over the moon she gained entry to St Pauls" - Mrs. Aylen (GCSE Maths, 2016)

Interview with Adrian

QUESTION 01 | 08
When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
Adrian — I first started tutoring over 10 years ago. I was studying to become a Primary teacher when my classmates asked me whether I would help them to pass the QTS Maths test. I really enjoyed seeing that I could have an impact on their lives by helping them pass this test and since then, I've been tutoring adults, primary age children and teenagers.
QUESTION 02 | 08
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
Adrian — I teach Maths to primary, secondary and QTS level.
QUESTION 03 | 08
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
Adrian — I have a mentor, Jon Ray who I look to for inspiration. He runs two businesses, one of which is helping to prevent colony collapse and save the bees. He's also a personal coach and it's through my learnings with him, that I've developed the most and I've found that as I have my teaching has improved also.
QUESTION 04 | 08
What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
Adrian — A good tutor has empathy, strong subject knowledge and is adaptable.
QUESTION 05 | 08
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
Adrian — I just remember being that kid at primary school eager to answer mental maths questions. 7 x 7 was always tricky for me but I used the other ones 5 x 7 and 6 x 7 to help me find that. I never forgot that and I encourage students to use building blocks instead of rote learning to learn their timestables.
QUESTION 06 | 08
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?
Adrian — I think each student has their own personality, set of emotions, ability and mode of learning and sometimes, it can be challenging to provide the space for optimum learning. With time, I've found I get better and better at this.
QUESTION 07 | 08
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
Adrian — I'm passionate about personal development. I've spent a lot of time becoming a better version of myself.
QUESTION 08 | 08
What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?
Adrian — I listen really well.
