Revision textbooks are a convenient way for lots of students to revise on their own, but sometimes nothing beats learning a subject 1:1 with someone who can explain (with lots of enthusiasm!) how the concepts they’re learning relate to real life.
Developing good knowledge of a subject is important, as is the performance in the exam itself where exam technique and strategy are equally needed. Given that though when I teach my aim is also to foster some enthusiasm for the subject itself.
For those students finding themselves struggling with similar questions time and again. I find it is helpful to not just identify where a mistake was in the answer to a question, but also to identify the misconceptions and underlying cause of these in the first place.
I have a strong grasp of the GCSE and A-level syllabus for Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computing, and achieved the highest grades in these subjects when I was at school.
I’m an aerospace engineer and have recently finished leading a project team in the defence sector.
This year I’m returning to Imperial College London to complete a masters in Aeronautical Engineering. I have lots of experience training junior engineers on the job and tutoring family members and am now excited to apply what I’ve learnt to help students better understand their subject.
