I felt lost and rusty after spending years out of drama school andI lacked confidence, then I had classes with Alex and she had me feeling renewed! In her classes we worked on techniques to free me up in voice and body, and attack the work with energy. I found Alex's teaching INTRINSIC to auditioning, analysing text, sight-reading, acting for camera, speech fundamentals, breathing techniques, for any purpose. Alex is very attentive, thorough, professional and doesn't waste time.
My daughter loves acting but was finding Drama School auditions very difficult. We booked Alex in for three months every week over the busiest period of my daughters first round auditions and we saw a marked improvement from her first year of applying. She also had more confidence. Alex also helped her pick her speeches and get into the world of Shakespeare - something she'd found inaccessible up to now.
I didn't realise how far you could go in an acting class. I'd only ever done drama classes at school. Alex was incredibly detailed and directed me in ways I'd never experiences before. It was so beneficial being taught by someone who had actually worked professionally and been to LAMDA herself. She kind of took me to a whole new level!
I'd become very tense about auditions and as a result was not playful in the room. Alex worked with me to remind me to be free and not to try to please people - just be honest. I still use some of her exercises. She's given me so much confidence to just be myself and let my ability shine through.
