Music has always been my passion and being able to express it through clarinet has always been a privilege and joy. I am happily sharing my experience and approach to students of all ages and levels.
My main instrument is clarinet but can also provide beginner lessons in recorder, flute and saxophone as well as music theory to any level. I am ready to coach any type of chamber music and provide my insight in meditation. I am fluent in Slovene and Croatian and have intermediate knowledge of French and German language which I can integrate in the lessons if needed.
I have graduated with distinction in undergraduate programme BMus(Hons) and postgraduate programme MA at the Royal Academy of Music. I have also been awarded DipRAM which is an institutional prize awarded to students for an outstanding performance in a Postgraduate Level Final Recital.
In my teaching I employ Simultaneous Learning Method established by Paul Harris which is supported with the ideas from the Kodaly Method.
I charge £40 pounds per hour for instrumental lessons. However I do charge extra if long distance travelling to your home is required. My rates for music theory and meditation are £30 and £20 respectively. I do offer discount on any consultation lessons, please contact me for more information.
I teach at home in the beautiful surroundings of Lammas Green Estate, but am happy to travel to counties nearby such as Southwark and Bromley. Travelling further is possible, but additional fee to cover my travel would be required.
Due to freelance performance activities my schedule varies, so please contact me directly to arrange a mutually convenient time.
I tailor my teachings to all ages and abilities. I have taught pupils of young age as well as provided stimulating lessons for eager adults. I am able to prepare you for your next ABRSM graded exam or guide you through an entrance exams to music colleges or scholarships.
I can tutor music theory online via Skype, please contact me for more information.
I am an open minded and caring teacher who always tries to bring out full potential in each student regardless their current knowledge. Together we can find your way in music and enjoy it as much as possible!

Perfect! Jernej is very patient and friendly. He gave my son, Daniel a great encouragement in studying the clarinet. Let him love to learn the clarinet. Thank you, Jernej.
Daniel is an extremely bright kid with attention for detail and well developed aural skills. Since the first lesson he showed positive approach and I look forward to see him grow as a musician.
Jernej is a brilliant clarinettist and teacher. He has helped me pinpoint my weakness and has encouraged me to play the music that I enjoy. He has helped me improve the cohesion of my playing by coming up with specific warm-up exercises and by giving me ways of approaching tricky passages. For every fault in my playing he will come up with a way to tackle it, resulting in rapid improvements in my playing. He never fails to send a follow up email after each lesson detailing my next steps, helping
I have known Jernej since I took the clarinet for the first time. His teaching method is wonderful and inspirational. The classes are great fun as he brings new ideas and techniques all the time. He encourages me with positive feedback all the time. After each class, he follows up with a written email with the main points from the session. Very professional and likeable.
