Online lessons are the newest development in personal tutoring, and due to the current pandemic, the safest choice. Lessons can be held via Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and will consist of power-point information, spoken discussion about any issues or complexities with the topic and finally any written work can be submitted via email or chat functions, which I am willing to check through either during the session or in between sessions.
I have been giving informal tutoring sessions for approximately a year, focusing mainly on helping students to understand and practise good essay technique. I have given several presentations to students at my previous college about topics in Ancient History and Classical Civilisation, and as this is the focus of my degree I am confident in aiding students in their understanding of Greek and Roman civilisations.
I am currently a second year student at a Russel Group university studying Ancient History. Through GCSE and Alevel I consistently achieved average or above grades, meaning I am comfortable to teach at both of these levels. My Alevels were focused in Classical Civilisation, English Literature and Philosophy, and at lower levels of education I am comfortable in teaching theses and other Humanities subjects.
My teaching techniques focus around carefully structured lesson plans (which I am happy to send for pre-approval) consisting of an alternation of teaching material and discussions to aid understanding of said material.
