Your tutor is a determining factor in your success, it sounds obvious but how much effort is put into understanding what you like, how you learn and what you need to do to get where you want is essential, which is why I design a programme specifically for you, for what you want: to play for fun, play in a band, learn to write songs, become professional one day or simply have fun strumming away in your lounge, they're all valid goals but need to be approached differently.
We need to determine how much practice you want and can do so we find a pace that never overwhelms you but keeps things moving forward. You don't need another source of stress and the guitar should definitely not feel like a chore, but at the same time there's no magic, practice makes perfect, I'll help you find that balance.
Playing what you want. You may not care about heavy metal, so why would we learn techniques to play shredding solos? you may not care about jazz so why learn sophisticated theory? You may love folk music so finger picking is a must from day one, etc. Getting to know your taste will help me plan your path, don't worry, we'll cover all we need to, but in the order that makes sense for YOU.
Your lessons will be designed around a list of songs you choose, and everything else will come out of those. Even when we spend time on a technical exercise or we need to understand this bit of theory, the aim will be very clear, to play a song you like.
I can guarantee you that I can help you get as far as you want, give it a try for free see if my approach is for you.
I've been teaching guitar for the past 10 years. My students, all ages, have come from many different musical backgrounds. Some used to play the piano or a classical instrument when younger but now want to play the guitar for fun, some play classical guitar but wish to learn the electric or learn popular styles. Some are young and starting on their musical education. A great many have been toying with the idea of learning guitar but have only got around to learning 3 chords and wish to take things further and many are complete beginners but keen to give it a go!
I enjoy teaching complete beginners, young and old, as well as people who've been playing for a while, since everyone is different, every programme is different, tailor made for you, we'll only do what we need to do to get where you want, as much as you want, at your pace. Finding the right tutor is key to your success, which is why I offer you the chance to try my unique programme for free, no obligation to continue if it's not for you.
I teach globally via webcam every day except Sundays. All times available. Lessons can be conducted in English, Spanish, French or Italian.
Looking for a tutor for your child? As a father of two and after a decade teaching children from ages 6 to 16, I have an approach that will get your child playing and making progress without it feeling like ‘homework’. Music should be fun and at a young age, the cognitive benefits of music making go so much beyond musical ability that you’d be pressed to find a more beneficial extracurricular activity for your child. It is proven that students who have musical training do better at core subjects, as well as being more fluent socially and more capable of building relationships, they make more and better friends. Put perhaps more importantly, playing music is a lot of fun!
So as a parent: Well done!
Alright, enough with the excuses, right? You've been thinking and talking about learning the guitar since you were a teenager, you even got a guitar but never got started. Or you perhaps did get started many years ago but then life got in the way and you put the guitar aside, or you learnt the basics on your own but then hit a brick wall and just didn't know how to get further. Worry not, we've all been there, it's really difficult to break that barrier on your own. Finding a tutor that understands where YOU want to go, and builds a programme around YOU and your time, your taste, your level, instead of applying a blanket programme that works for 'the average' student is of vital importance to you, keep looking until you find the right tutor for you (even if that's not me!). No one is average, by definition, and my job is to make sure you get every penny's worth of great guitar teaching that takes you further along your path efficiently and most importantly, having a lot of fun in the process!

I have a BMus in Music Performance and Production from Middlesex University, as well as a 4-year certificate in Jazz Studies from the American School of Modern Music in Paris with vast experience playing live and recording. But really, that doesn’t matter, what matters is that I have 10 years’ experience teaching people ages 6 to 76 from complete beginners to advanced players and that I will develop a programme that suits YOU and will take you where you want to be musically.
I’m not only a teacher, but a performer and recording artist, a producer and composer, I have a ‘big picture’ view of how to get you from where you are to where you want to be. Some of you may want to become professional musicians, some just want basic competence to play along to songs you like or to your friends, or you just enjoy strumming away in your lounge when you get the chance, I get it! And I’ll create a programme to fit.
Both my daughter aged 9 and myself had lessons with Andres. Andres made the lessons fun and relaxing. He always prepared the lessons in advance, tailoring them to our particular needs are interests.
Andres is excellent! He’s incredibly patient, insightful and supportive - I genuinely love my lessons with him (which I do over Skype) and have (I think) improved a lot since I started with him.
Andres has been teaching me for just over two years and being taught by him has been an absolute pleasure. Besides his huge knowledge of technique, musical forms and styles he has a great teaching style which is friendly and supportive. He tailors lessons to suit the Student’s musical tastes but with a clear structure to ensure progression in both ability and confidence. I would highly recommend him to any student at any level, young or old.
