Animal Welfare worker with more than 10 year of experience in different organisations and countries

Methodology

I'm happy to teach/help everyone regardless of their background and experience. I can work the students or group of students to find the best way to help, with flexible times and subjects. When you work in animal welfare every day is different so I understand that you might encounter different challenges as you go along. I'm happy to change our classes according to what you need.

Experience

I started my animal welfare journey when I was 16 years old and I started my own organisation in Portugal. From that I enrolled in Veterinary medicine and volunteered with a few of the most renowned animal welfare organisations in the world. Now I work for one of them. Apart from animal welfare another passion of mine is sharing the knowledge that I gathered all this years so that together we can do more and better for the animals.

Experience

Branch Manager 05/2019 - Present
RSPCA London South East Branch
As branch manager I have 2 distinctive roles. One in animal welfare, and the other managing the shops. In animal welfare I’m responsible for the collection and transport of animals in imminent danger and the future rehoming process of those animals. I’ve created a network of foster families in London South East area as well as a TNR program. I’m responsible for the recruitment and training of new and existing volunteers, as well as the shop managers.
I have active communication between the branches, foster families, inspectors, the main RSPCA head office, the veterinary clinic, the private boarding, the accountants, shop managers and the trustees to ensure smooth running of all processes. This is also to make sure that everyone involved is confident that we’re doing the best we can for the animals. Additionally, I manage the website, email, phone and all the social media pages for the branch (Facebook and Instagram). Regarding the shops I’m responsible for stock rotations, the shop’s suppliers/supplies, auditing and keep the shops within the health and safety standards. I’m also responsible for the payment of invoices, both related to animal welfare as well as the shops, customer service, budgets, reports, data analysis, banking, record keeping. I attend trustee meetings to report all of the above.
