I have a PhD, MPhil and BSc. I am friendly, encouraging, patient and, most importantly, I know how to impart knowledge. Everyone learns differently so I tailor my services to each individual. Above all, I make learning interesting.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
As a socio-legal researcher in the field of international criminal justice, my work is highly interdisciplinary by conviction and by methodology; it draws from a wide variety of subjects and is both empirical and non-empirical in nature. As such, I can not only offer help with a wide range of subjects and topics but also teach you about how they speak to each other.
Law, particularly, is a discipline in transit, moving from a mono-disciplinary tradition towards much more attention for multidisciplinary and empirical legal research, from a national to a more international, global orientation, so learning to combine doctrinal and non-doctrinal analysis is becoming increasingly important.
My specialisms include the fields and topics of international (criminal) law, international relations, sociology, moral and political philosophy, cultural psychology, Enlightenment theory especially Kantianism, human rights particularly first generation "blue rights", normative jurisprudence, contemporary slavery and trafficking.
In addition to tutoring, I also provide a comprehensive range of editing services. Developmental editing helps an author with the structure and fundamental aspects of a dissertation. It is deep consideration of all aspects of your work to help you succeed upon submission. Copyediting is less intensive than developmental editing. This work involves reading a finished dissertation for grammar, punctuation, consistency and possible errors.
Important Update: Despite stating very clearly that I do not provide such a service, I have received a number of requests for essays written from scratch. I now require students to sign a code of conduct form, in order to uphold academic standards and integrity. This form details the queries and advice regarding corrections provided by the editor. It also explicitly states that no actual (re-)writing can be done by the editor on examined texts. The form clarifies that services provided are to improve the text of your thesis and responsibility for the final manuscript lies with the student and not with the proofreader/editor. Finally, the student declares that the work is undertaken with the knowledge and consent of the student's supervisor and/or thesis committee.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a PhD and Master of Philosophy degree in International Criminal Justice. Both of these research degrees were self-designed. I have a BSc Hons in Criminalistics. I have A-Levels in Law, Sociology and Psychology.
- How much do you charge?
My tutoring rate is £45 p/h plus travel costs.
Editing fees can be calculated as an hourly or daily rate, per 1,000 words or for a whole project. Because clients' needs and requirements vary so much, so do my rates.
I always ask to see the text (or a sample) before giving a quote as there are many variables involved, particularly for copy-editing. However, each project is assessed individually as many factors affect how long a job will take.
- Where do you teach?
I prefer to tutor face to face but I also provide online services. I cover London and Kent including Canterbury, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Folkestone and Dover.
- When are you available?
I am flexible in my availability and willing work weekends/evenings.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
From Foundation Degree up to PhD
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I cover all further and higher education levels:
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Clients can contact me via email, Whatsapp or, upon request, via Skype.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I hope that my profile and my linked personal website show that I am passionate about academia and teaching and care deeply about every project that I undertake. You require two things in a good tutor; extensive expertise and an ability to impart that expertise in a compelling, coherent and comprehensive way that makes learning enjoyable. I possess both these attributes.
- What kind of experience do you have?
Beginning in 2012, I have many thousands of hours experience of private tutoring. I enjoy watching students' competence and confidence grow as they achieve more than they thought they could. I see students as unique individuals and my wish to provide personalised attention was behind my decision to leave the constraints of formal higher education.
Before deciding to become an exclusively private tutor I taught Human Rights and Slavery/Genocide/Torture as part of the Politics and International Relations degree course at the University of the West of England.
In 2012 I became the youngest ever academic to perform peer review for the Journal of Global Ethics. I have prepared expert reports on Albanian sex trafficking for the Home Office and National Offenders Management Service. I have also co-authored several peer-reviewed articles and delivered papers at international symposia and conferences.
I have carried out groundbreaking doctoral work which features interviews with five convicted Albanian sex traffickers and I am working on turning my thesis into a book.

My viva was held yesterday and I am pleased to say, I passed with minor corrections. I am very happy but this happiness is also a result of your input. I want to use this opportunity to thank you again for the excellent editorial work you did on the thesis and for the many contributions you made to improve it. I also thank you for the encouragement I received from you when the going was tough and when it seemed easier to just give up. I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart
