Anthony - Hitchin - Architecture

Super Prof

Anthony is one of our best tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About the lesson

I assure all students that they will be given personalised and constructive input to their work and that I will be committed to their eventual academic success.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I assist students to progress their architectural design studio projects by:

*tutoring them on how to interpret the brief and understand the project requirements
*encouraging them in their search for design concepts
*by mentoring and constructive criticism of their developing designs
*by making students aware of the regulatory and technical environment of the project
*by commenting on project presentation
*by reviewing their argumentation prior to their project crit.

I also assist students to progress written submissions by:

*reviewing their proposed their proposed structure and argumentation
*by assisting students who's first language is not English to express their ideas in written form
*by editing their written text.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I completed a five-year full time course at the Northern Polytechnic London, now London Metropolitan University North Campus and was awarded the Northern Polytechnic Diploma in Architecture. Following three years research into computer applications in architecture I obtained a Swedish Licentiate of Engineering (TeknL ) degree at the Faculty of Engineering, Lund University, the nearest UK equivalent is a Masters Degree in Architecture by Research.

I have also studied for the RTPI Joint Distance Diploma in Planning Studies and have university level credits in Business Studies together with several vocational certificates in AutoCad.

I have recently completed the City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training, which provides the basic skills that a teacher/trainer requires to teach professionally in further education.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £35 per hour and I usually teach in two-hour blocks.

- Where do you teach?

Previously I tutored my students face to face at the British Library in the Euston Road. More and more I find that students have busy timetables and conflicting demands to manage and that they find it difficult to meet me during the working day. Now I have progressed to tutoring mainly on-line, at times of day which suit my students and myself.

It also allows me to tutor students studying outside London and even students studying outside the UK.

If you are really keen to meet me face to face then take me for a coffee in my home town, Hitchin in Hertfordshire

- When are you available?

I am usually available on weekdays up to 20.00 in the evening. Weekends will require special arrangements.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

University level students and mature students

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

BA, BSc (Hons)Architecture, Diploma in Architecture, RIBA Part 3 Examination, degrees in Architectural Studies, Architectural Technology etc.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

Video conferencing and desktop sharing using Skype, HP MyRoom etc.. I am particularly interested in tutoring students in other countries using these tools.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I assure all students that they will be given personalised and constructive input to their work and that I will be committed to their eventual academic success.
