I believe tutoring works best when a clear, overall goal is set from the beginning. I then like to work with the student to create a timeline of smaller learning goals, starting with topics the student feels they need the most support with. My main aim is to build a strong foundation of understanding of their subject which will give them the tools to combat exam questions as well as giving them a deeper appreciation.
I previously tutored two under-achieving year 11 students in GCSE Mathematics, helping them both to pass their exams in the summer of 2015
