Being a GCSE and A level student myself, i know what struggles and pressures people have to it themselves through to get a better grade. Self study is important to obtain a good grade, but often it is imperative to reach out for help as some topics can really rattle your brain. Therefore i feel, a one to one session would really benefit a student and help him or her to understand a concept faster. Often, it just happens to be the case that an explanation has to be worded differently for it to be understood. However, some concepts do require an in depth analysis and breakdown with examples. I intend to identify exactly how much something needs to be explained in order for it to be the most easily understood. In this way, i could prevent students from being over burdened with additional explanations
I am currently a third year student studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London. I've always thought of teaching to be a noble profession. I believe that any person of any age is capable of being a teacher to someone, as long as he or she lays a positive impact that person. Hence, people who teach as a profession can actually shape the way their students think. I hope, as a teacher, I am able to impact the lives of my students by helping them with the best of my abilities.
I have had plenty of opportunities to help build my teaching skills. In high school, I was a member of the peer tutoring society(yes there was a peer tutoring society at my school), which was basically involved in helping juniors classes with their course. Throughout high school and even now at imperial college, I've always been helping friends with work, although it use to happen much more in school. All of my cousins are younger to me, and so I've always been engaged in giving them help advice about their studies. Also my father is a part time professor at a university, and I've helped him check his papers numerous times(but yeah, I just checked the easy stuff). Tutoring GCSE and A levels, I have over 50 hours of experience in total.
My GCSE grades were
