Art Tutor/ Lessons York/Leeds/North Yorkshire/ West Yorkshire

Methodology

I love teaching freelance as I work with students who are as excited about art as me! My approach is for students to "face their fears" work on there 'weaker' points in drawing, they build confidence in their skills&broadens art knowledge.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach Fine Art within the framework of GCSE, A-level, Degree or hobby for any age.
I tailor tuition to the student's personal areas of interest whether a beginner learning the basics of drawing, and/or an individual who want's to focusing on developing a personal visual language.

Drawing - contour, shape, colour/tone, texture, structure and the relationships between form and space .

Sketchbook development - record from direct observation and personal experience, experimentation, and the use of intuition and imagination, communicate by using appropriate materials and techniques in a disciplined way, encourage visual thinking, research skills and storytelling ability through sketchbook practice.

Coaching on Cultural studies, applications forms and personal statements. As well as presentation advice such as mounting, framing for end of year shows.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

Camberwell College of Art, MA Visual Arts Illustration.
University of Leeds, BA (Hons) Mixed Media Textile Design.
Selby College, BTEC National Diploma in Fine Art.

Akamas Foundation: Child Protection Awareness Certificate.
Akamas Foundation: Child Protection Skills Certificate.

- How much do you charge?

Beginners (aged 7-13 years) £15.00 p.h.

Intermediate (GCSE- A-Level) £18.00 p.h

For intermediate students I recommend lessons of a 1hour 1/2 or 2hours to be more beneficial to get the best progress from students (especially nearer exam and deadlines.)

Please give 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel the lesson otherwise I am afraid I will have to charge for travel expenses.
(Please note that the hourly rate does not include travel expenses proof of receipt will be given for the costs)

- Where do you teach?

I teach from the student's home.

North Yorkshire- York/Selby (including surrounding areas)
West Yorkshire- Leeds/Wakefield (including surrounding areas)

- When are you available?

I can fit my schedule around any preferred time weekdays, weekends and all the school holidays.
Including evenings from 7pm.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I have experience teaching 6-16yrs, however all ages and abilities welcomed.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

GCSE & A-Level Art/ Fine Art

- Do you have a personal message for students?

My aim is to discover what you want to achieve and see how we can work together to help you reach your goals. I am naturally enthusiastic for the creative subjects I teach, devising lesson plans that will inspire and engage your future development.

I offer a friendly, relaxed and encouraging learning environment so that students can develop naturally at there own pace. It's important to me that I help you enjoy developing skills, understanding, knowledge and confidence whether you are a beginner or want to improve your exam grades.

At the beginning of this year I started teaching a GCSE Art student, who's grade went from a D to a B in two months. I have also been teaching two sisters aged 7 and 10 who have a personal interest in art, there mum wanted them to learn the basics skills of drawing to encourage there passion.

Amy provided summer holiday art lessons for an enthusiastic 12 year old. We found Amy to be a talented and understanding tutor that produced fantastic results. I would have no hesitation in recommending Amy as an art tutor.
