Whether private or in groups, I give extensive individual attention and thoroughly demonstrate techniques. Realism and observation lay vital groundwork for any artist whether they want to focus on realism or a particular style, such as manga. As such, I do include realism and theory in my classes, or at least some reference to it, how much depending on the aims of the student. I also provide the opportunity to use professional grade materials which can be a great option for students who want to experiment with a medium before committing. I can offer the use of watercolour and gouache paint, ink, coloured pencil, graphite materials, as well as a graphics tablet and appropriate software.
Hello! I'm an artist and have been working freelance for individuals and professionals for the past 5 years. In particular I specialize in animal and fantasy artwork but I've tackled a huge range of subjects from realistic human portraits to manga. During this time I've taught numerous art classes, individual students and run workshops and art parties for children, teenagers and adults with very positive feedback. Under my instruction I've had students blossom from complete beginner to achieving confidence in their own styles, including high levels of realism where this has been the goal.
While I have a background in art from my foundation art degree and numerous years of regular life drawing classes and professional experience, my bachelors and masters degrees were in science giving me a particular edge for scientific illustration and detail that's been invaluable in improving my technical skill. I've also worked in an art shop which has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience with various mediums and art products and skill in how to recommend them to people of all abilities.

Additionally, I use on demand printing services to sell my own designs. Doing commissions requires high levels of organization, reliability and good communication skills. As a paid artist I’m confident in my ability to teach the subject.
