I am an aspiring Psychologist and would like to share my knowledge and passion for the subject with others. At AS Level, I achieved A* in Psychology and an A in Sociology - currently, with four months left, my predictions are the exact same.
Having taught my peers in lessons and doing revision groups, I realized I do have a knack for this, not only that, but I enjoy helping others and making them love the subjects further, to the point where my friends were beginning to achieve two grades higher than they were before.
I know learning can get the best of us at times so I don't like sticking with pages full of notes and rewriting them 5 times - I throw that all out the window (not literally haha). Videos, cartoons, posters and flashcards are your best friend for getting all the researcher names, key concepts and essay structures down. The only pages full of writing that I allow or agree to partake in are doing exemplar exam questions and creating plans.
I mainly focus on evaluation points and the key to answering questions - understanding what they're asking you, how to make your answers flow, including key terminology.
Being quite sociable and bubbly, I do feel like it helps make tutoring comfortable and fun - that's how learning should be. If you're not enjoying yourself or aren't comfortable, nothing will stick in your head. As mentioned above, I do not enjoy pages full of notes myself hence why I create my own videos, mindmaps/posters, flashcards and try to link information to our everyday life to help key studies stick (for example music, celebrities, TV shows).
Even to this day, I help with revision groups with my peers and have helped people in my year achieve two grades higher than what they were achieving before and still do help them whenever I can to keep them on track.
Achieving A* in Psychology and an A in Sociology means a lot to me, especially maintaining it over the past two years of A Levels without losing motivation is what I hope to enlist within others whether it's GCSE or A Level.
I obtained 3 A*s, 2 A's and 3 B's in my GCSEs whilst still maintaining part time jobs within Debenhams, BHF Electric and Furniture Store and House of Fraser.
I like being around others and helping others, it's what keeps me so positive and I channel that into my work - hopefully I can help you channel this too!
Anisha was an excellent tutor who made you feel at home. She was kind, friendly, patient and very informative. I struggled quite a lot and she explained in detail and in absolute patience. I would have failed but thankfully I had Anisha. I can't recommend her enough!
