I'm Baldvin and I'm a music teacher based in Cambridge. First and foremost I want my students to have fun. I strive to make every single student the best musician they can possibly be, without risking their love and enthusiasm of the instrument.

- What kind of experience do you have?
Alongside my studies I have been working as a music teacher. I started in 2010 when I had 6 clarinet students. During my BMus studies I began teaching in the Music School of Reykjanesbær, where I had more clarinet students than before. I was also hired as an assistant band leader. That job included helping members of the band with rhythm, notes and simply how to be in an orchestra. I also conducted the band.
That same year I worked in a youth centre, where I was in charge of the "music club". The club consisted of musically inexperienced teenagers and it was my job to form bands and teach guitar, bass and keyboard.
Since I moved to London to start my course I have started working as a private instrumental teacher. I started mainly as a clarinet teacher, but now I've got a lot more guitar students.
I have worked for a company called Mini Mozart for a year, delivering music classes for babies and toddlers. I lead group singing, games (Bubbles, parachute, scrunchie etc.) and storytelling
Outside of my musical work, I have got a lot of experience working with children of all age. At the age of 14, I started working in Scout day-cares as a scout leader. The children were 6-12 years old. I worked there 6 summers in a row. When I turned 17, I began working as a football coach with 3-5 year olds, for two years. I also worked at the local Sunday school where I was in charge of group singing and performing.
In 2011 I worked in a kindergarten over the summer which I absolutely loved. The following year I received a grant to tour Kindergartens in ReykjavÃk to show them the clarinet, its abilities and sound.
