About the lesson

Beatrice has 15 years' professional experience as a freelance pianist, violinist and teacher. Beatrice is friendly and patient, and always works at a pace to suit the student. Lessons are suitable for adults and children of all standards. Whether you are a complete novice, want to take exams or simply want to play for pleasure, you are welcome.

Beatrice is also a composer with several full-scale works to her name. She especially enjoys teaching theory, and sharing her love of history of music and dance with her students.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach violin, piano, theory, composition and history of music. I prepare students for music exams with either ABRSM or Trinity. But exams are not compulsary and many of my students simply play for pleasure. I prepare students thoroughly in all areas of exam work - scales, sightreading, aural tests or viva voce. I also try to give performance opportunities for those students who are interested, and I do special audition coaching.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have the ATCL teaching diploma from Trinity College London. I have Grade 8 distinction in 4 different disciplines. I am also a qualified suzuki teacher. The suzuki method specialises in teaching very small children, and is an excellent way to start your musical journey.

- How much do you charge?

30 minute lesson = £15
40 minute lesson = £20
1 hour lesson = £30

- Where do you teach?

Most lessons take place at my home, however I do sometimes travel to students' homes depending on the day, time and location.

- When are you available?

Every day.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

All ages and levels, children and adults. Everyone is welcome.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

Grades 1-8 ABRSM or Trinity. Advanced certificates and ABRSM Diploma.
