About the lesson
Drawing on 15 years experience playing and teaching in many different styles and genres. I am able to tailor lessons to suit the students interests and needs. I have a relaxed and encouraging approach and aim to make the lessons inspiring and fun.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach electric and acoustic guitar, in rock, pop, jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll, and funk styles. ABRSM classical guitar to intermediate level. I teach piano and keyboard in rock, pop, jazz, and blues styles. And classical and jazz piano to intermediate level.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied Jazz Guitar at the Royal Academy of Music on the Bmus course for 3 years. While there I also attained a LRAM teaching diploma. I have Grade 7 piano (ABRSM).
I have since been a music tutor for over 10 years privately and in schools and community centres where I have helped students prepare for ABRSM and rock school grades, and end of year school concerts.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30 per hour at home, or £35 at students home. I can also teach via skype.
- Where do you teach?
I can teach from home, or travel to students' homes.
- When are you available?
I teach weekdays, and evenings, I am flexible with times.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and abilities.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I teach ABRSM, and the 'Rock School' grades on guitar. And ABRSM classical and jazz piano to grade 5 level.

I am able to teach online if the student wishes.

- What kind of experience do you have?
Being an accomplished musician and songwriter means I have been able to travel both here and abroad doing what I love. I currently play in a group which tours the UK, Europe and in the States. Other highlights include playing the 'Other Stage' at Glastonbury, and playing the 'Jools Holland' show.

I am DBS checked.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at the Royal Academy of Music, and trained with Ed Speight, Federico Danneman, and Dave Cliff.
