I believe in teaching students to understand science, rather than just memorise it, so they can develop critical skills in applying what they have learnt. Furthermore, I posses the idea that each student has a unique skill set, and a syllabus shouldn't be generalised- thus, further developing my philosophy of tailoring tuition to every students individual needs.
I am a student studying undergraduate Biochemistry at the University of Liverpool. I achieved two A's in Biology and Chemistry at A-level. I also have a strong grounding in mathematics, having studied it to AS level.
I ran revision classes and science lessons for my peers whilst studying my A-levels, who all went on to achieve strong grades.
A high achieving A-level student, currently in year 13, I incorporate an exceptional work ethic and a keen interest to learn. I am highly motivated, analytical and organised. I have a passion for science and the wider field, as well as having a professional disposition, I am thorough in all my work.
• One of my major key skills which I have obtained is an ability to work well as a team, although, I am a decisive and cooperative team leader. Due to this, I have a desire to work with others in my field in order to achieve the best outcome.
• Eloquent and able to communicate ideas to other clearly and efficiently.
• Rigorous and orchestrated when handling information, extremely organised.

‘Next’ home PLC
I was employed by Next PLC as a homeware sales consultant between October 2017 and January 2018. This role involved me advising customers on furniture, managing stock on the shop floor, using till points, making delivery orders, issuing large transactions and explaining home loans/ trade credit and APR to customers. The skills I developed from my employment where as follows:
- Till training
- Dealing with complaints
- Engaging with customers during the Christmas period and sale events
I found engaging with customers an extremely enjoyable task as I believe I enhanced my confidence and communication skills.
The Meadow coffee shop
Here I was responsible for customer service and sales experience where I was a waiter, this involved serving food, cleaning tables, communicating with customers and washing table wear. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this employer as it was so different to my prior position in retail. This allowed me to expand my knowledge portfolio with, what I believe are, transferable and dynamic skills.
Manchester Heart Centre
I have undertaken a two-week work experience placement at Manchester Royal Infirmary from the 10th of July until the 21st of July. This involved me shadowing a range of medical staff in order to gain a deeper understanding into the healthcare industry. I was assigned to aid in minor procedures and to attend meeting with high level staff. I believe this developed my skills in independence as I learnt how to solve problems efficiently, and moreover, how improve on previous mistakes.
Secretary and member of ‘Impact’ charity.
I was previously a secretary for ‘Impact’, a youth charity involved in helping the wider community. This involved setting up charity events for ‘The British Heart Foundation’, and migrant crisis
I offered my time during college to go into lessons in lower school in order to offer support. The majority of my classroom time was spent in helping a year 8 science class. I believe this class has made become more eloquent and clearer in how I communicate to others.
I begin as course representative for biochemistry this year where I will involved in helping to improve the faculty of life sciences and- hopefully- the university as a whole for undergraduates.
As of November 2018, I will begin tutoring basic mathematics to year 6 pupils at a local primary school in Sefton park.
