I like to be organised and plan my lessons in advance, these sessions are yours so it's up to you what we study but you will benefit most from telling me what you struggle with most so I can prepare a session which will help you improve.
If you are preparing for an exam or are in school, tell me which exam board you are using or what topics you are covering, this will mean I can access an exam specification for you meaning we learn effectively and efficiently, missing out unnecessary information which will not benefit your exam preparation, unless you want a much broader picture in which case we'd take a different lesson structure.
I am a very patient person and will never get frustrated or annoyed if you cannot grasp a concept. The whole idea of one to one tuition is that it's your time and you take as much time as you need to understand something, this doesn't mean waste your time and be lazy!
We will go through work methodically and calmly, and if you forewarn me about what you want to study then I can begin our sessions with a check list of learning objectives.
I will teach locally in Glasgow term time, or online throughout the year.
If you should like to go to a museum etc or the botanical gardens I would have to add a travel fee. I do have access for a car but would need warning if that would be used. The standard rate for travel is £3 (so the total cost of a 1 hour lesson would be £12) but if you are further away than 3km this may have to rise to £4 or £5 but we will discuss this in the first lesson and the first lesson will be at base rate.
I am 19 years old and study at The University of Glasgow,a top U.K. University in The Times University Rankings. I have previously helped, notably on a more informal basis, students doing their GCSE's with Science and Maths, this helped them as they could learn from someone who had only recently gone through what they had gone through.
I didn't have the easiest journey to University as I missed a lot of my first year due to illness, including my exams, this meant that I had to teach myself any work I had missed alongside my second year of A levels. I also taught myself A level maths. This experience gives me a good knowledge of how students learn best as I tried many different methods - we will find one which suits you.
