I always start by getting to know the student better by finding out their interests and what they want to do later in life. This is essential in how I teach since I usually give analogies and examples relating to topics a student has greater affinity to. I have found this to motivate the student as well as give them a better understanding of the subject. I also encourage the student to think for themselves rather than just obtain the facts from the book.
I am a final year Molecular Bioengineering student at Imperial College London. I'm offering tutoring in Math, Further Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at A level or equivalent. I have taught some students A Level math and statistics and they all met their grade requirements. I have also done some voluntary teaching at a government school back in my home country of India. This has equipped me to deal with a wide range of students. I am also applying to be a teaching assistant at university and will gain further experience through this.
