I will make sure to listen to your needs and explain any hard concepts in a way that you will understand. I will have enjoyable activities for you to test your knowledge and consolidate your learning.
Every lesson will have a short recap activity to make sure that previous material is constantly being remembered. I will go through mark schemes and exam techniques to make sure that you are able to get the most marks available (biology mark schemes tend to be quite picky!).
My priority is increasing your academic performance whilst making sure that you are still enjoying the subject. I love biology and I'm sure my enthusiasm will be infectious (pun intended) :)
I am here to help you. I will let you lead the lessons, choose what topic you want to go over and give you the resources to help your understanding.
I am currently a Biology PGCE student with Swansea University. I have a degree in Biomedical sciences from Cardiff University and am due to start teaching in September. I am passionate about biology and making learning accessible and enjoyable.
I have been teaching on and off since I was 15; not just biology, but also Latin, chemistry and drama. I volunteered in Zambia to teach English, maths and science to students in the Flying Angels school. I have been teaching science in Wales throughout my PGCE (years 7-13) and have excellent knowledge of the curriculum and WJEC requirements. I ensure my students enjoy my lessons whilst learning content, explaining it in multiple ways to make sure that everybody understands.
I am passionate about teaching and would love to help as many students as possible to increase their knowledge of biology!
If I need to take public transport (I usually cycle), please cover my travel costs
If you need to cancel a lesson, please give me 24 hours notice - this will then be free of charge.
