- Do you have a personal message for students?
Stuck on photosynthesis? Can't get your head around ion and water reabsorption? Try a tutorial for one session - there is no obligation to continue
One to one tuition is the most effective way to increase your grade, as everything is tailored to your needs alone. There is no such thing as a stupid question - the best students are the ones that always ask about what they don't yet understand.
For many students who don't achieve their full potential, the problem is understanding what the examiners are asking for, exam technique. I can help you with that.
- What kind of experience do you have?
With extensive and diverse experience of scientific research and applied science, I have an in depth understanding of science in general and the biological sciences in particular. This is particularly useful in helping students learn the skills needed for answering questions on the interpretation of scientific data, which are becoming increasingly important in exams. I have more than five years experience of tutoring A-level Biology, specialising in the OCR and AQA syllabuses, and have also had experience of teaching A-level Biology in a school environment. I am an examiner for A-Biology, and thus have valuable insights into the way the examination process works which I can communicate to students. I have been briefed by an exam board on the changes in the specification starting in the 2015/2016 school year.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I have satisfied customers benefiting from my tuition for as long as an academic year, and going on to achieve their goals such as entering medical school. I have had students from many of the schools around Tunbridge Wells, such as Cranbrook, Judd, Uplands, TWGSB.
• B.Sc. Hons 2(1) in Biological Sciences
• Ph.D in Biological Sciences
• DBS certificate
I have received a place at St Andrews; with an A in Biology.
Thank-you so much for all the help you have given me. I don't think I could have done it without your help.
Thank you so much for all your help this year, managed to pull the B in Biology up to an A* and got the grades for Manchester.
Ed has just received his results by email and confirmation of his place at the University of Reading. He got A in Biology A in Geography and B in Economics. We can't thank you enough for all of your hard work with Ed, coming up to work with him for the day and ultimately for making biology clear and easy for Ed to understand, something which his teachers at school hadn't been able to do. Thank you so very much.
