My teaching style is interactive and practical. I think that the best way to learn anything new is to broaden your understanding of the topic by presenting the fundamental ideas in relevant ways, for example, comparing scientific principles with things we encounter in everyday life. From there I like to deepen the understanding through the use of diagrams and then end in a set of questions in order to apply and reinforce your knowledge but also to identify any areas which are still problematic.
Then a week later and a month later ask similar questions in order to sucessfully reinforce the knowledge.
I am a Biomedical science student currently studying immune protein interactions within viruses, specifically HIV in a laboratory setting. I achieved a first class degree in biochemistry from the University of Exeter and spent a year working on biofuels at SHELL.
I am currently tutoring my younger sister in both Chemistry and Biology for her OCR A-level so am very familiar with the structure and content of these courses. Prior to this during high school I tutored a GCSE level student in Chemistry who improved from an E to a B.
