I was taught following the Suzuki method and soon got introduced to Sevcik, Dupport and Popper...as they are essential. Nevertheless each student is different and teaching should adapt to their needs.
As for theory, I like to divided into solfage (reading intonation and rhythm), harmony theory (based on the circle of fifths) and harmonic analysis. Nevertheless, theory and technique should always go hand in hand. It all makes more sense when you put your knowledge to practice! : )
I have studied classical cello and piano in the conservatoire for the last 10 years and I am currently studying a Popular Music Performance degree as a singer. I am passionate about music and understand the theory behind it. I am very patient and could help you with many different things ranging from theory lessons, musical analysis or reading to cello and piano lessons.
