I can give lessons to primary and secondary school students. Students can set the structure themselves, i.e, what topics they would want to focus on and need more help on. I like to base the methodology on the student's needs and preferences. For example, if a students learns best by way of discussions then that would be the preferred method or if they are an auditory learner, then I would go for that style. I also believe that checking their understanding after a lesson is important to reinforce their learning or pick out troubled areas so I like to set a quick written quiz at the end to mark it and prepare for further sessions.
I have a degree in Law LLB at undergraduate level, an LLM (Master's) in Commercial Law and I have just graduated from the Bar Professional Training Course with an 83%. I am fluent in French since it is my native language and I can teach it to students. I have a passion for law which I'm sure can be transferred through my teaching sessions.

October 2018 Law Pro-Bono Clinic at the Bristol Civil Justice Centre and Bristol Law Society
The Pro-Bono unit at UWE provides free legal advice to members of the public. I am part of a team that holds a monthly clinic at different locations in Bristol with a purpose of giving legal advice to clients on Family Law issues including child arrangement orders and family disputes involving property and financial remedies.
January 2019- Pro-Bono at Voices Charity, Bath
I assist with the provision of free legal advice by means of a conference at the Voices Charity that supports domestic violence survivors. I have gained experience in dealing with vulnerable clients and faced challenges which I have overcome during this role.
2016 – 2017 Future Quest and Aspirations Workshops
I have delivered several workshops to secondary students assisting them in evaluating their skills and educating them on the different opportunities available after they finish school. I conducted team building activities encouraging students to understand what skills they have and how to develop them further. I have advanced in my communication, teamworking, problem solving, leadership and management skills.
2015 – 2017 Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Intern
In my first year, I facilitated academic sessions for undergraduate students which involved activities to consolidate their learning and supported them in their revision. In my second year, I was promoted to coaching and mentoring students to enhance the quality of peer support sessions they then delivered to undergraduate students. I have proved my flexibility and time-management by scheduling regular meetings with my coachees and handing in monthly submissions as well as my communication and leadership skills.
OTHER EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
2017- 2018 Sales Assistant at JD Sports, Cribbs Causeway
I engaged with customers on a daily basis which developed my communication skills. I had to meet sales target everyday which meant that I had to have an impeccable work ethic, be motivated and reach my full potential. I was committed to this role for a year and worked alongside my LLM degree. This enforced my planning and time-management skills.
2017 ‘Silver Surfers’ IT instructor, LinkAge
I worked with the elderly to get them acquainted with technology on a weekly basis. I would help them with any technological issues they needed help with such as sending and receiving emails, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, online shopping and e-banking. I have widened my communication, patience and IT skills.
2015 – 2016 Reading buddy and Number Partner at Begbrook Primary Academy
My duties were to encourage students in reading and to get more practice in mathematics by way of activities and games. Overseeing three small groups of six highlighted my problem-solving abilities and team work and solidified my leadership skills. This experience has been intensely challenging, but at the same time it was incredibly rewarding.
2012- 2013 Student President at Queen Elizabeth College
During my time as the Student President in secondary school, I headed many projects and organised events:
• Worked on the renovation of the school’s cafeteria and prepared a plan for the Headmistress who then submitted it to the Government for funding. I then headed a fundraising at school which funded part of the costs for the renovation.
• Organised a Blood Donation Day at school and a ‘Health Walk’ for World Health Day 2012.
I have seen her when she was offering peer to peer support sessions and how attentive she was to her students' needs. The progress of the sessions were fast visible.
She is a great tutor and also she is very caring about her students. She will make sure that she gives a great results for the students. One of the best tutor I’ve seen :)
Lylah is a brilliant tutor and I have had the pleasure of learning from her over the last year. As a speaker of 5 different languages, her grasp on speech and language is fantastic and her teaching clear and precise. I struggled with learning French during my younger school years but learning with Lylah has been so much easier.
