- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Bassoon from beginner to a high level and teach piano, classical theory/composition, musicianship and music theory exams (ABRSM only) to grade 5 level.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied for a Bachelor of Music at Auckland University (NZ) and then completed post grad study at Sydney Conservatorium. I've played in a large range of ensembles on bassoon, from duos and chamber music to large orchestras. In my undergraduate degree my courses included composition, keyboard, harmony and analysis, and music history.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £25 per hour or £15 for half hour lessons. Travel costs are included in this fee.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at your home and am willing to travel to anywhere in the greater London area with good public transport.
- When are you available?
I have a flexible schedule as I am self employed and can teach throughout the year. Afternoons and evenings are preferable but not essential.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach bassoon from beginner to a high level. On a full size bassoon students will need to be around nine years or older to begin. I teach piano, classical theory/composition, musicianship and music theory exams from 5 years, beginner to a grade 5 level.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught individual bassoon students privately, who have gone on to study at university, and group classes in piano, general musicianship and theory.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I currently don't but am more than happy to get one.
