I'm a university student, but I've had years of experience both learning and teaching my subject. I can give a broad and deep field of knowledge in music and sound technology to prospective learners, in both practical and theoretical disciplines. I believe in an inquisition-based method of teaching and learning, wherein questions are asked in regards to achieving a goal and information is taken in along the path to answers. My envisaged lesson plans are loose in structure but allow for exploration along any tangents encounterable along the way, meaning a student can learn according to their own interests and choices. In terms of style of teaching, I like to make learning entertaining and practical, using small goals and exercises along the way to demonstrate ideas and principles.
I have been working in music technology and sound engineering for 4 years and have solid experience in live sound, studio engineering, mixing and production, field recording, and audio capture and editing for film and video. I'm pursuing a degree in sound art at university and have been tutoring both friends and people in need of guidance at my university, in particular showing them the ropes of studio hardware and software and helping them realise their projects. I engineer local gigs at freelance work and record my own projects at home and in nearby studios.
I am happy to teach individually or in groups, with no change in fee for multiple students. The fee is the regardless of prior knowledge or experience, I'm as happy to teach a beginner as I am to work with someone with intermediate ability.
I’m a university student studying sound arts at the University of Brighton, and I’m hoping to improve myself and complement my university experience with a part-time job. I’m a musician, photographer and filmmaker, and I love to entertain people with my art and music.

Interests and Hobbies
I am currently the University of Brighton Music Society’s Web and Safety Officer; I am responsible for the society’s social media presence, and I take video, photos and audio as a record of society events. I completed 1 year of community service at Winchester College, running with blind middle distance runners. I helped set up a small festival celebrating the 50th year anniversary of the 1967 Summer of Love, and I took photos and video documenting the event. In 2014 I compered the Newbury Young Songwriter of the Year competition, sponsored by Hogan Music. In my spare time I write and record my own music, playing guitar, piano, bass, banjo, ukulele, mandolin and singing. I often perform my songs live at open mic nights and my university’s Music Society events. I take photographs, both digitally and with film, and I make short videos for myself, friends and family, and to commission.
