As oldest of 4 I was launched into several years of tutoring to help my siblings through their school work (both GCSE's and ALevels).
I use fun analogies, which are relevant to the learner. Often these become analogies that we have created together. This aids both understanding (v important!) and for remembering the info during exam revision. By breaking down topics the amount of content being learnt seems less daunting; and once these sections are learnt it becomes easier to tie in all the information togethe. This results in good understanding of knowledge as well as ability to apply knowledge, something examiners are forever banging on about!
My previous tutoring experience so far consists of teaching my 3 siblings through various exams. Specifically, Economics AS/ALevel, PE GCSE, AS/ALevel and English GCSE. I also enjoyed teaching a friend through her PE Alevel and Psychology Alevel, as organised by both her and her parents! Although neither of these were particularly formal tutoring experiences, I believe they are examples of how I believe tutoring experience should be - personal and something to look forward to.
I have also been tutored by the most incredible tutor, who I was and still am incredibly grateful fo. So I believe I understand exactly what it is that makes a great tutor.

Currently studying Psychology Bsc at Bristol University (second year).
Childminding: for 10-year-old boy, which I really enjoy
Freddie's Flowers Canvasser and Mentor: As well as the sales part of this job I also had to train others who were just starting on the door. Something is oftern quite daunting at first (maybe even worse than sitting an exam?)
