For online students, my teaching will be in a lecture style. I will provide lecture videos for all students that provide in-depth, research-based information in an engaging, light-hearted manner.
For one-to-one students in Pembrokeshire, my teaching will be student-centered and informal. I understand that students want to learn in a conductive, relaxed environment, and that is what my sessions will provide.
My passion is sport. I have grown up with a ball at my feet, spending countless hours on rugby and football pitches. In the process, I have always surrounded myself with people, both as a player and as a coach . I love learning about others and helping them become the best version of themselves. Through this, my aspirations to be a teacher developed.
After studying Physical Education, Religious Studies and History at A-Level, I went on to study BSc Sport and Exercise Science at Swansea University. I achieved a 2:1 honours in my degree, and my final year Dissertation considered the ethical and moral issues surrounding the WADA Code’s sanctioning of inadvertent doping cases. Additionally, I developed a detailed knowledge of various disciplines of Sport Science. This includes Strength and Conditioning, Ethics, Physiology, Psychology and many more.
Since graduating from University, I have gained employment as a Community Coach at The Welsh Rugby Union, where I am also a member of the inaugural WRU Youth Board. As a Community Coach, I work with children and teenagers and aim to optimise their rugby experience through inclusive, engaging coaching. As a member of the WRU Youth Board, I work closely with the hierarchy of the WRU to give young people a voice in Welsh Rugby, aiming to increase the participation in all forms of the Sport in Wales. In addition to these two positions, I am also a Teaching Assistant in a 3-to-16 school, with views to undertaking a PGCE in September 2020.
PERSONAL STATEMENT: I am a confident, motivated and enthusiastic individual with big aspirations. I consider myself to be thoughtful, friendly, and someone who always gives his all.
