I try to tailor my teaching to areas where each student feels they need to improve, and I give students a lot of choice about how they feel they would learn best. So far I have been asking my students to submit weekly essays, which we then discuss in our meetings.
I graduated from Cambridge with a first in History and Politics, but also gained an A in English Literature at AS level. I can tutor on a wide range of books taught at GCSE and AS level. I am already tutoring two students in A level history.
I would add the cost of travel if I gave the lesson at a student's house rather than online.
I am a recent Cambridge University graduate with a strong academic track record and experience of tutoring A level students. My degree is in History and Politics, but I am also able to tutor in English Literature at AS level and Law at A level. I am already a tutor with the Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative, and have experience of mentoring younger students at my former college through the Oxbridge applications process. I understand that progressing in academia is often a matter of confidence, and I have aimed to encourage younger students to appreciate their own abilities.
Copies of any exam certificates, as well as references from my university tutors, can be provided upon request.

Interpersonal skills and mentorship
The Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative
I am currently tutoring two A level history students through the Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative. We have been focusing upon essay technique and improving their coursework. My specialism is in modern British and American history, but at the moment I am also helping students with essays on the Tudors, the Cold War, twentieth century Italy and imperial Russia.
President of Sidney Sussex College History Society, October 2019 to June 2020.
As a result of my academic achievement and organisational skill, my supervisors made me president of the college’s history society. My role was to book high-profile speakers for our events and chair society events. This meant being a person to whom younger history students could turn for advice about paper choices and essays.
Mentoring younger students through the Oxbridge applications process
After receiving my own offer to study at Cambridge, I helped younger history and politics students through what can seem to be a daunting process. I read over their personal statements, gave mock interviews, and encouraged them to be confident in their own academic potential.
Cambridge Access Initiatives
I took part in the Cambridge Student’s Union shadowing scheme, which meant having a state educated AS level student spend two days at university with me. The aim of the scheme was to show that anybody with academic potential and a love of their subject could apply to Oxbridge

Took a refresher course in French in my second year of university, and am developing my knowledge of the language through Duo Lingo.
