I am a first year medic with very recent experience with both UKCAT and BMAT, aware of how daunting they may seem. Having gone through the medical school selection process I have encountered the sort of mistakes many aspiring medics make when it comes to test preparation. I will try to introduce the student to the methods I used to prepare for my exam and encourage them in improving their results.
I sat the UKCAT exam last year and achieved a score of 3310, band 1, which was in the top 1% of all results. In my BMAT exam I scored 6.2, 6.2 (top 5%) and 3A despite never having studied GCSE science the test was based on. I have received offers from the University of Edinburgh, the University of Glasgow and the University of Cambridge to study medicine. I have previously tutored maths to younger age groups, as well as SQA higher level.
