I approach each topic by first identifying the areas in which the student is especially strong, and those in which there is room for improvement. This will be done by challenging the student with progressively more difficult questions, encouraging them to work though the solutions out loud so their ways of approaching the problem can be assessed and corrected.
Next I will move on to cycles that start with the teaching of information and and followed by short verbal questions and then exam style questions designed to practice the application of knowledge, and to broaden the understanding of the student.

This project formed part of the final assessment for my BA in Zoology. Its aim was to computationally identify the genetic patterns that were responsible for/ correlated with the ability of avian flus to become infections to humans, whilst attempting to predict those that may allow for increased transmission from human-human and thus greatly increase the risk of pandemic. The project was awarded a score of 82/100
