Tutoring sessions will generally cover the topics and concepts from the course which are causing the most difficulty. This will usually be integrated with past exam questions to ensure an appropriate level of understanding is gained. Any questions the student brings will also be dealt with and exam technique discussed if relevant.

I am a first year Natural Sciences undergraduate with diverse experience in tutoring in maths, chemistry and biology to students at all stages of secondary school. Working with students in classrooms and one-on-one has given me the ability to pool extensive resources for their course, identify areas for improvement and explain concepts to both struggling and thriving students. Having started school from the bottom set in maths until GCSE and coming out with the top mark for Higher Level Maths IB, I am keen to help other students realise their potential in their studies and exams.
Education and qualifications:
BA Natural Sciences First Year: 2.1 Prediction.
IB Diploma: 44 points (equivalent to A*A*A*A*A at A level – UCAS tariff points)
Higher Level: Chemistry (Biochemistry, Further Organics Options), Biology (Neurobiology Option), Maths (Discrete Option).
GCSEs: 10 A* grades and an A in Additional Maths.
I publicised and invited hopeful Oxbridge chemistry students to an extension reading/ discussion group, which included students from another local school. I prepared questions and exercises from the books we were reading before the sessions.
I worked as an academic tutor for a year 10 boy who was struggling with science, especially chemistry at least once a week. This involved preparing informative questions from past exam papers and answering any questions he brought to sessions or through email if they were urgent.
I helped in Year 7 Maths Class in weekly sessions, which were split into helping struggling students work through mistakes they had made or working individually with one boy who was excelling at additional material.
I also helped in a GCSE Maths Class weekly with the aims of helping their confidence in maths and assisting them in improving technique for the upcoming examinations.
