I am an enthusiastic student myself and I usually tutor both young children and teenagers getting ready to sit their GCSE exams. From personal experience I have found that the best way to study for these exams is to do as many practice questions as possible and going through any difficult ones with tutors is most helpful, as this allows students to improve upon their exam techniques which will help gain marks and save time in the final exam.
I have been giving lessons for about a year now and have had 89% of students achieving A*-A and 11% achieving their minimum expected grades, which ultimately is their goal. I also take the time to volunteer and mentor students at first schools and high schools to improve on my own teaching styles. This helps me to adapt different techniques that are better suited for the child.

Having received 11 GCSEs fairly recently I can relate to the pressure students undergo during the stressful exam season. I feel I am able to relate and help students through this tough time and help prepare them for anything that can be thrown towards them in an exam. Particularly science papers require a degree of technique when answering questions and this is something that can be taught. I have been a mentor to many students for the last year and this is one of the main weaknesses of students because it is not always something your teachers will show you how to do!
