I am very passionate about teaching and believe it is essential that lessons are never boring or monotonous.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach oboe, cor anglais and music theory from beginner standard to advanced level, and beginner recorder.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have recently completed a Masters in oboe performance at the Royal Academy of Music. Previously, I read music at King's College London, whilst on a part time course at the Royal Academy of Music.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30 for an hour's lesson and £20 for half an hour.
For pupils outside of the SW and W postcodes I charge an additional £5 for travel.
- Where do you teach?
I teach from home, but I am also willing to travel to students' homes.
I am happy to travel in the London area.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible, but my general teaching days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I am willing to work on weekends and in the holidays. I am also available to give extra lessons in the build up towards exams/auditions etc.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach the oboe to anyone of any age.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I encourage pupils to take ABRSM exams, but I also recognise that there are those who would rather play for fun and so provide a lively and interesting environment which suits all.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught the oboe for a number of years and have a 100% pupil pass rate with exams. I am passionate about teaching and my ethos is to have a lively and positive working environment where pupils feel encouraged to improve and enjoy playing their instrument.
I have visited a number of schools as a workshop leader, and have an excellent rapport with children. I have also worked as an oboe teacher in West Buckland School, Devon, before moving to London.

- Where and with whom did you train?
I first began the oboe whilst a chorister at Exeter Cathedral School. I then went on to the Purcell School of Music where I studied with Melanie Ragge. Whilst reading music at King's College London, I continued to have lessons with Melanie Ragge, but also studied with Tess Miller at the Royal Academy of Music.
