I am a psychotherapist working with SEN pupils (autism, ADHD, global delay, speech delay) on their journey towards accessing education.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I work either therapeutically or as a tutor with children 0 - 12 years old to address the processes that make speech, reading and writing difficult. This may take different forms depending on each individual and their needs. For example, with younger or non-verbal children I may work with the foundation of spoken language and play as a way into speech and/or reading and writing. For an older child addressing the difficulties may take a different form such as tutoring but equally therapeutic play sessions may be appropriate. Please feel free to message me and we can discuss your individual needs.
I also proofread and edit university students' work, particularly EFL students, and can provide one to one verbal feedback to enhance your language skills and written English.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I qualified to practice as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in 2016.
- How much do you charge?
I generally charge £40 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
I can come to your home or a mutually agreed setting. I am willing to travel to London zones 1, 2 and 3 particularly Camden (Chalk Farm, Primrose Hill, Hampstead, Belsize Park, Gospel Oak, Kentish Town, Highgate, Muswell Hill), Islington, Finsbury Park, Manor House, Seven Sisters, Westminster, and City of London.
- When are you available?
Please get in touch and we can find a mutually agreed time for the sessions.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I work with children from 0 - 12 years old with a range of special needs including children on the autism spectrum, ADHD and children with behavioural difficulties. I work with pre school and primary school children, adjusting sessions to suit the individual child.
I also work with students in higher education to improve their written English and proofread papers and assignments.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Papers for proofreading can be submitted online
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have worked in mainstream primary schools for the last 10 years with children who have a range of needs including autism, ADHD, global delay and behavioural difficulties. I currently work as a psychotherapist, play therapist and SEN tutor including children who have been excluded from their primary school. I have worked for several years with individual children and families as a psychotherapist with a range of ages from 0 - 12, alongside their parents and/or individually.
