« My 6-year son started his lessons with Ms Cathy around 6 months ago and he absolutely loves them! He started as an absolute beginner and I must say that I am truly impressed with how much he learned in only 6 months! Ms Cathy is absolutely amazing - fantastic attitude, makes learning fun and interesting with perfect balance between theoretical knowledge, learning how to read music and playing songs. I would definitely recommend Ms Cathy for your little one or for yourself! »

I will accept children from age four and I teach anyone above this age.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

ABRSM and Rockschool piano and music theory exams, LCM electronic keyboard.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I teach piano, keyboard and music theory for both students wishing to take exams, and those who want to learn just for fun. I believe that playing an instrument should be an enjoyable experience for students, and aim to make the lesson fun and varied, tailored to the students goals and interests. I teach children as young as four years old so it is important to me that they have fun whilst learning.

I have a flexible approach to teaching, using a variety of methods to suit each student. I can prepare students for both practical exams and theory exams, or music of the student's own choice. I am happy to teach a variety of genres such as classical or pop music. My aim is not only to teach the student to play the instrument but to help them to become a skilled musician in general by helping them to develop their musical knowledge and listening skills.

I teach from home in a relaxed but professional environment. The first lesson is free so you are welcome to come for a trial lesson to meet me and find out more about learning piano.

I'm a mature beginner and feel I have made a good amount of progress in a short space of time with Cathy's advice. Cathy is very positive but still prompts me in ways I can improve my playing. I totally recommend.

My son started having lessons at Christmas and Cathy has taught him so much in that short period of time. Theo really enjoys going and is already showing off to family and friends the skills he has learnt. Cathy teaches to the ability of the individual and makes the learning environment pleasant yet focused.
