I am a cellist with extensive experience in both performing and teaching in a wide variety of settings. I am also a friendly and adaptable person who cares about helping students fulfil their potential.

I teach the Cello.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied an academic Bachelor of Music degree at King's College London, specialising in Performance and Composition. While at King's I also took the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music teaching certificate. I then went on to do postgraduate study at the Royal Academy of Music where I did a Postgraduate Diploma followed by a Masters in Performance in cello.
- How much do you charge?
First lesson is free. Thereafter I charge £30.00/hour and £20.00/half hour.
Travel costs if I come to you will be calculated accordingly.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at home in Ladywell, Lewisham, and can also travel to you up to a distance of a few miles including Greenwich, Blackheath, Crofton Park, New Cross, Sydenham etc.
- When are you available?
I am flexible to a certain degree, but the best times are weekday mornings as my little girl is at nursery! Also possible some weekday afternoons or saturdays with flexibility.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Beginner to advanced, from 5 years old upwards.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I usually prepare students for the ABRSM graded syllabus but am happy to teach students who prefer not to take exams.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Through music you can express a part of yourself that words cannot express, and find enjoyment which is beyond our daily lives.
- What kind of experience do you have?
My cello teaching experience ranges across the educational spectrum, from teaching at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Dept First String Experience for four years to groups of 5-7 year olds, Blackheath Conservatoire group teaching 5-8 year olds on the Roundabout scheme as well as individuals of all ages and grades, secondary age girls at St Saviours and St Olaves in Elephant and Castle Grades 1-4, to performance students at Chichester University 2008-2010 including those taking final year exams.
I also teach piano privately up to grade 5.
I taught in Bombay for 6 months cello, piano, groups for general music and string chamber music coaching, as well as primary school classes in London for general music. I also have experience teaching composition, music history and harmony for GCSE, AS and A2 at Burntwood School south London.

I have a valid and current CRB check.
- Where and with whom did you train?
At the Royal Academy of Music with Lionel Handy and Jo Knight, and Baroque cello with Jenny Ward-Clarke.

- Tell me about some of your current students.
I have a lovely little boy of 9 who started learning with group teaching and decided to learn with me privately, he is now tackling grade 4. I also have a grown up lady in her 60s who likes to learn for fun, and a 17 year old boy who is taking his grade 7.
