As an ESL teacher, my classes follow the communicative approach, taking the language's function and register into account when building a meaningful learning environment. I have been a private tutor for the last 5 years therefore I am used to adapting materials to best fit my student's goals and needs.
I am a certified CELTA teacher with a BEd in English and Portuguese. My seven years of teaching experience have allowed me to work with multiple backgrounds, age groups (05-60) and language levels (A1 - C1).
I am also passionate about literature. I was a researcher under the Scientific Initiation program at my university studying ‘The Lexis of Desire in the works of Hilda Hilst and Charles Bukowski’ which was funded by CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). This led me to present the results at a national congress, an international symposium, and being invited to give a lecture at a literature event at my university.

I organised and taught two-hour one-on-one classes for adults, ranging from A1 to C1. Applying placement tests and personalising materials were part of my routine to achieve student’s needs. I taught both face-to-face and online classes. I helped students grow in their careers, gain the confidence to speak to natives in their professional settings, achieve specific scores on tests, and attain personal dreams of working and studying outside Brazil.

At Windsor Idiomas I organised and taught one-and-half hour classes mainly to adolescents, ranging from A2 to C1. I was also responsible for teaching preparation classes for the B1 Preliminary test (PET), in addition to giving private tutoring and support classes. Applying and correcting tests and assignments were expected of all teachers.

At CNA I organised and taught one hour and fifteen minutes classes to students ranging from 06-55, A1-C1. I was responsible for organising weekly events for students and parents. Applying and correcting tests every two months and weekly assignments and correcting web classes were expected of all teachers.

At United I organised and taught one and a half classes to adults (18-60). I taught General and Business English courses in addition to one-on-one tutoring. I was responsible for organising monthly events and trips related to the courses’ curriculum. I was a researcher under the Scientific Initiation program and funded by CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) under the PIBIC program (Technological and Scientific Program) to study "The Lexis of Desire in the works of Hilda Hilst and Charles Bukowski”, advised by Professor Isabel de Andrade Moliterno. I presented the partial results of my research at the 18th National Congress of Scientific Initiation (CONIC) and the 26th USP International Symposium of Undergraduate Research (SICUSP). Both participations resulted in the publication of my work at the congress proceedings of the events, which can be found at their websites under volume 6, 2018 (CONIC), and edition 26, 2018 (SICUSP).

During the last semester, I taught two courses at my university: “Academic Writing and Reading” and “Basic English” for A1 students. I designed the curriculum of each course as well as twenty teaching plans, hand-outs, and class reports.
For my practicum experience, I observed English and Portuguese classes at a local school (FITO) for a year, leading to creating two class projects which were implemented during a semester in addition to writing reports about the experience.
