About Naila
I’m an IGCSE English tutor in Kuala Lumpur specializing in First Language English (FLE) and English as a Second Language (ESL). I hold a CELTA and two Master’s degrees in MA Publishing Studies and MA Journalism & Mass Communication, and I’ve been teaching for 3 years.
My lessons are structured and exam-focused. I teach students how to understand what Cambridge examiners want, write clear and organized responses, and improve their accuracy and vocabulary without sounding forced. I support students with reading skills (inference, writer’s effects, selecting evidence) and writing skills (planning, paragraphing, tone, summary, and composition).
I’m known for giving detailed feedback and practical strategies that students can apply immediately. Many of my students have improved significantly, including moving from D to B, with consistent practice and targeted coaching.

First lesson: diagnostic + clear targets (content, structure, vocabulary, grammar accuracy, timing, exam technique)
How I teach:
Cambridge-style tasks: directed writing, composition, summary, reading response, speaking support
Step-by-step writing system: planning- strong openings- paragraphing- language control- band-based improvement
Reading skills: inference, writer’s effects, comparing ideas, evidence selection
ESL focus: grammar + vocabulary + fluency, built around IGCSE exam requirements
