Certified luso-brazilian tutor offers Portuguese online classes - all ages and levels

Methodology

My methodology is based on communication development allowing the individual to explore a whole new world with the target language. As it's a private lesson, the focus is totally directed to the students' needs. Do you want to enhance your accent or pass a grammar test? Do you prefeer practing while talking about sports or academical matters? Everything here is based on you and your goals.

I teach both one-on-one classes and small groups (pairs or trios): why not to practice with a friend?

The classes are based on a mix of different reference books (i.e. YALE'S Bom dia, Brasil/Muito Prazer...) and activities developed by me. After the first trial class, I'll share a Google Document with a personalised learning scheme, including grammar, vocabulary and exercises. The student is invited to built their classes with me and actively check the upcoming subjects.

Please note that due the pandemic, I'm currently not in town and all the classes takes place by webcam only (Google Meet, Zoom, etc)

Hi, there! My name is Luiza, I'm a young luso-brazilian teacher!

I'm an undergraduate student in Modern Languages (BA with license to teach) at UFRJ, one of the main brazilian universities. I've been teaching language, literature and culture, and researching Education for about 3 years now both in presential and virtual enviorements. This academical approach to education gave me a lot of experience to all ages and levels, and also sensibility to handle with each student's particularities.

I teach Portuguese for native, foreign and heritage speakers, Italian and English. I'm also entitled to teach Literature and Culture.

I'm an avid traveller, so if you're interested on visiting Brazil, Portugal or Azores, it will be a pleasure help you out!

Luiza is fantastic! Her classes are dynamic with an interesting mix of grammar, oral practice, writting, listening comprehension and culture. She is very patient with the student's timing as well and always finds new ways to explain the topics. I definetely recommend her to anyone that really wants not only learn portuguese but truly understand the lusophone world. My favourite thing about her is that the shares with the students the lesson's planning, including class' subjects, grammar topics , exercises and stuff, so I could keep track of my own development and built with her my own learning scheadule. Definetely an unique experience!
